We’ve Moved to a New Farm in Bangkok

Big News from Varmers: We’ve Moved to a New Farm in Bangkok

At Varmers, growth has always meant more than scale. It means growing better crops, using smarter systems, and proving that agriculture can be both productive and deeply sustainable.

That is why we are excited to share a major milestone in our journey: Varmers has moved from Sukhumvit to a new, larger facility in Bangkok.

This move marks far more than a change of address. It is the beginning of a new chapter for our company, our customers, and the future of vertical farming in Thailand.

Why we moved

Even though we loved that we had the first ever farm with a marble floor, the old facility was not sustainable at all.

Our new facility gives us the space and infrastructure to do what we do best, on a bigger and better level.

With this expanded farm, we are able to grow a broader range of the highest quality crops than ever before. In addition to our existing produce, the new site opens the door to exciting new varieties including:

  • Floridian strawberries
  • Italian basil and a wider range of herbs
  • Carolina Reaper peppers
  • San Marzano tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • and much more

This larger facility gives us the flexibility to diversify our crop portfolio, improve production, and continue delivering premium, locally grown produce with consistency and quality.

A major leap forward in sustainability

What makes this new farm especially meaningful is not just its size, but what it enables.

The new Varmers facility is designed to operate with 100% renewable utilities, powered fully by solar panel energy. It also reduces water use by 99%, with the remaining 1% managed through highly efficient sourcing, namely rain water.

For us, sustainability is not a side project. It is built into the core of how we farm.

This new facility now allows Varmers to operate as a completely sustainable company. Even more importantly, it positions us as what we believe is the only CO2-negative building in Thailand, meaning our plants photosynthesize more CO2 into O2 than the amount of CO2 required to operate the facility.

That is a powerful statement about what the future of food production can look like.

Raising the bar globally

We have always believed that businesses should be measured not only by what they produce, but by the impact they create.

Eventhough B.Corp does not work in Thailand, our B Corp assessment score was 193 out of 200 which already places us among the highest-performing mission-driven companies anywhere. With this new facility, we believe we are now in reach of 200 out of 200, a world first.

At the same time, Varmers continues to contribute to 11 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, showing that vertical farming can support real progress across climate, food systems, responsible consumption, innovation, and community well-being.

What this means for our community

This move is a big step for Varmers, but it is also a step we want to share with our wider community.

Our new home reflects the future we have been building toward: a farm that produces more, wastes less, runs on renewable energy, and demonstrates what truly sustainable agriculture can be.

We are incredibly proud of what this new facility represents, and we cannot wait to welcome people back.

Stay tuned for visits

We know many of you are eager to see the new farm in person, and we are just as excited to open our doors again.

Please stay tuned for updates on when the new facility will be accessible for visits. We look forward to sharing this next chapter with you very soon.

Thank you for being part of the Varmers journey.

The future of farming is here, and it is growing in Bangkok.
