The essential farm
Open production rack for utility rooms and back-of-house areas. Same growing core, minimum finishing.
Design visualizations show edition styling, not the final manufactured unit. Manual or automated irrigation is selected separately.
Varmers A900
One A900 is one 200 × 60 × 200 cm grow rack with four growing levels and 4.8 m² nominal shelf surface (actual planted area depends on trays). Choose Manual farming to hand-spray water and nutrients, or Fully automated growing with a dedicated Zolftech AutoFeeder 3.0, covered mixing tank, separate A/B/acid stocks and timed irrigation for four shelves. A stable 21–25°C room, safe electricity and plant-care labour are still needed.
Start with a room.
Scale to a farm.
A900 is the practical first step before a larger custom farm: a repeatable crop platform with a real service zone, crop-level controls and capacity that can be expanded cabinet by cabinet.
A farm, not a planter.
One 2 m rack, 4 usable crop levels, horticultural lights and drained grow trays; automation is optional.
- 4.8 m² productive canopy
- 8 horticultural LED bars
- Crop-specific tray modules
The room does the climate job.
A900 is deliberately not an air-conditioned container. It gives the customer a farm inside their controlled room.
- Steady 21–25°C
- Ventilation, humidity and condensation managed by the room
- Dedicated earthed/RCD-protected 230 V socket
One cabinet or a network.
One A900 is self-contained. Each automated cabinet has its own dedicated AutoFeeder, reservoir and controls; each rack can use one crop nutrient recipe at a time.
- 8+ cabinets unlock 10% hardware discount
- Per-rack EC/pH and recipe log
- Optional Varmers operating support
The cabinet should look like it belongs there.
The A900 is intentionally not one fixed visual object. The technical core is standardized; the cabinet language can follow the interior.

Standardize the farm.
Customize what people see.
The crop platform should be repeated and serviceable. The enclosure can become furniture, a customer-facing feature or simply a productive back-of-house grow room.
Inside every A900
Each A900 is one 2 m rack. The trays and lights are common to both modes; an independent water tank and dosing/irrigation service module is provided only with the automated variant.
- 014 crop levels on one rack
40–50 cm clear shelf spacing for herbs, microgreens and specialty leaves. - 028 × 35 W horticultural LED bars
280 W installed lighting, with crop-specific dimming where specified. - 03Two watering modes
Hand spraying in Manual; timed shelf drip irrigation with pump, filter and valves in Automated. - 04Crop-specific tray modules
Deep drained cocopeat trays for herbs; separate shallow modules for microgreens. - 05Optional protected service zone
Automated includes floor-level covered reservoir, A/B/acid tanks and Zolftech EC/pH controller; Manual includes neither.
Black architectural frame
Simple, industrial and easy to place in modern interiors.
Warm oak
Furniture language for kitchens, homes and residential lounges.
White + light timber
Bright, calm surfaces suited to wellness and learning environments.
Walnut + brass
Old-world bar cabinet character with a productive farm inside.

These are planning examples only, not production guarantees. Yield, sell-through, cycle length, crop density, labour and room climate must be validated during the crop trial.
Calculate a crop plan in two minutes.
Use any sellable unit: kg, pack, tray, bunch or stem. For a mixed room, run one line per crop or use the workbook supplied by Varmers.
Order 8 or more A900 cabinets and the configured 10% hardware discount is applied automatically.
Same idea.
Different scale.
A900 is the interior member of the family. C48 is the production-container member. Both are sold around one principle: the customer buys a complete growing system instead of assembling components.
A900
For spaces where the farm is meant to be seen: homes, hospitality, offices, schools, clinics and restaurants.
C48
For dedicated commercial production where the priority is controlled output in a transportable 40-ft farm.
The farm core arrives as a system.
From the open Core rack to a fully bespoke Signature installation, the production platform stays specified. The customer provides the room climate; Varmers provides a safe, repeatable grow system.
One rack, two growing modes
- One 200 × 60 × 200 cm, 4-level growing rack
- Food-safe crop trays with drainage / tray support system
- 8 × 35 W horticultural LED bars
- Drainage/catchment, basic light timer and manual spray tools included in Manual mode
- Automated mode adds the Zolftech AutoFeeder 3.0, covered reservoir, separated A/B/acid tanks, mixing pump, four timed irrigation zones and safety cut-offs
- RCD-ready cabling, IP-rated junctions and core controls
- Enclosure and presentation package according to selected edition
- Commissioning and operating handover according to project scope
One nutrient recipe per reservoir.
Dissolve A and B in separate stock tanks before dosing into the mixing tank; keep acid separate. An EC probe cannot measure individual nutrients, and a float valve does not measure EC or pH.
- Herbs: deep, drained cocopeat trays with drip lines
- Microgreens: dedicated shallow tray / bottom-water module
- Manual: spray prepared nutrient solution; measure pH/EC separately
- Automated: per-rack AutoFeeder 3.0 controls EC/pH and separate irrigation controller times each shelf
Core, Home, Pro or Signature/Professional — the choice is about how professional and integrated the finished installation should be.
Hold 21–25°C, confirm a dedicated 230 V earthed/RCD-protected socket, ventilation, clean water, drainage and physical service access.
Built to order. Final lead time depends on edition and installation location.
Set the crop recipe, verify pH/EC, flow and drainage, then record the first crop cycle before relying on a forecast.

Frequently asked questions
What must the room provide?
A steady 21–25°C, sufficient ventilation and condensation control, clean water and a safe drainage or wastewater route. One A900 can use a normal dedicated 230 V, 10–16 A earthed socket with RCD protection. It must not be a shared extension or an unprotected circuit; a multi-cabinet room needs its electrical load designed by an electrician.
Can A900 grow microgreens, herbs and shiso flowers?
Yes, but they should not all use the same tray recipe. Microgreens use shallow trays and bottom watering. Herbs use drained cocopeat trays with drip lines. Shiso flowers require a lower density and taller crop clearance; not every shelf will be suitable at the same time.
Why not use a gravity tank on top?
A full top tank is heavy, makes servicing harder and does not give even flow or nutrient control by itself. A900 uses a protected base-level reservoir, filter, pump and pressure-regulated lines. A float valve can maintain water level, but it cannot dose nutrients or correct pH/EC.
How are pH, EC and nutrients managed?
Manual growing uses hand application and handheld pH/EC checks. The automated variant includes a dedicated Zolftech AutoFeeder 3.0 on each rack for EC/pH dosing with separate pre-dissolved A/B stocks and compatible liquid acid; four timed shelf watering zones use a separate controller. Probe calibration, safe high/low limits, stock refill and cleaning still require labour.
Can I calculate ROI for a crop not shown here?
Yes. Use the live calculator with your own unit, yield, selling price, sell-through and crop input cost. It works with kilograms, packs, trays, bunches or stems. The simple payback result is a planning case, not a yield or sales guarantee.
Does automated growing mean no daily work?
No. Automated means Zolftech EC/pH dosing and timed watering on one rack. You still prepare and refill dissolved A/B concentrates, monitor and calibrate probes, clean trays, plant, harvest and inspect for leaks. Check sensor and dosing-head package details with Zolftech before commissioning.
What is the difference between Core, Home, Pro and Signature?
All four editions use a single-rack crop core. Core is the practical open rack. Home and Pro change enclosure, presentation and service integration. Signature is a custom project. The room and crop configuration still need to meet the technical requirements above.
More product information
One rack. Two ways to grow.
The Varmers A900 is one 200 × 60 × 200 cm indoor rack with four growing levels (4.8 m² nominal shelf surface). Actual planted space depends on tray sizes, crop height and maintenance clearance.
Manual farming
Lighting, timer, trays and drainage with a hand sprayer. The grower prepares and hand-applies water and nutrients; there is no AutoFeeder, automated fertigation tank or dosing equipment.
Fully automated growing
Includes a dedicated Zolftech AutoFeeder ECPH 3.0 for each A900: separate pre-dissolved nutrient A and B stocks, a compatible liquid acid stock, covered main tank, EC/pH sensors, mixing and timed irrigation pump with four shelf zones. Harvesting, cleaning, probe calibration, planting and reservoir replenishment remain operator tasks.
Room requirement: stable 21–25°C, safe earthed/RCD protected electricity, suitable ventilation, water and waste-water route. VAT, delivery, HVAC and external room works are quoted separately. Prices and yield models are indicative until supplier and crop trials validate them.
Lifestyle renderings show concepts and finishes, not a guaranteed representation of the one-rack bill of materials. Confirm delivered specification before ordering.
